The use of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) equipment and modeling software capable of analyzing the huge volume of data related to LiDAR is another example of ASC's commitment to the advancement of surveying. This commitment has extended ASC's current range of tools to include stationary 3D laser scanners. The scanner ASC has chosen is the Cyrax from Cyra Technologies in San Ramon, California.

This technology allows accurate mapping of 3D images for topographic features that were previously difficult or impossible to measure.

Bridge details are obtained without ladders, lifts, or lane closures. Pavement elevations are measured remotely to accuracies equal to or better than conventional surveys with no lane closures. Piping dimensions and configurations are accurately measured and modeled in 3D to facilitate additions or revisions. These and many more applications are accomplished more quickly, at less cost, and in a safer manner.
